On July 26th, 1990 President George H. W. Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure that those of us with disabilities have full civil rights and can live lives free of discrimination and stigma. In this summer of 2015, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act which is also known as the ADA. We hear a lot about the ADA at the national level. In this 10-minute video, I reflect on some of the work many of us were involved in at the local level to help build cross-disability coalitions in support of the eventual passage of the ADA.
