I have worked in the mental health field since 2008, but it has been something that has been a part of my entire life. Having an older brother with mental health concerns who suffered then improved, I have enjoyed helping others overcome their barriers to become successful in their goals.Contact Me
Currently, I work at the First Episode Center where our team work with young adults that need the additional supports and resources to recover from their first experience of psychosis. It is a rewarding experience for most of our members are first seen inpatient at a psychiatric hospital, and they believe their previous goals in life are not obtainable any longer. We provide them with supports and resources to get them back on their feet. We help them thrive to be at that place in their life before they experience their first episode of psychosis that found them inpatient or when they were not doing well.
I am a second year PhD student at Grand Canyon University, and I have a Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. During my research for my PhD, I have come across many of Pat Deegan’s work, and she has been referenced in my upcoming dissertation. I hope to gain the tools to assist our members at the First Episode Center to help aid them in recovery and to give our members the strength to recovery in their own eyes. I have gained a great tool with being a Certified Personal Medicine Coach, and that it will help me improve in my effectiveness in my career.
