I am Kalea Elliott. I am the Co-owner and Director of Peer Services for Family Community Case Management. I am a Mental Health Peer Specialist as well as a Certified Family Partner. I am also a person living with Autism and ADHD. Years after experiencing the divorce of my first marriage and being the victim of domestic violence, I decided to better myself by going to Celebrate Recovery, and attending therapy sessions. After an evaluation, I found out that I was autistic as well as with ADHD which explained a lot considering that I also have 2 special needs children who I have also helped support as well. After the traumatic death of my sister and the loss of my brother and dad, I experience a lot of anxiety and grief associated with their loss. This is something that I live with to this day. I have found things that have helped me stay in wellness, bring me joy, and remain positive, while being exceedingly truthful with myself and how I feel and being able to process through those emotional waves of grief to stay within my wellness has been so helpful.

Now I have found creative ways to help me stay in wellness that includes, art, writing, photography, meeting friends, and other things that I would have never would have connected as my own Personal Medicine. This is the reason I became a CPMC. My experience in learning for myself how I needed to live and stay in my wellness was so important to me. I know that for a while there was a dark cave that I sat in, but when I was able to connect things that I've done with what brings me joy and stay in wellness this experience has been life-changing. I am not my diagnosis and it doesn't define who I am.
